Meet the Local Governing Body
A warm welcome from the Local Governing Body of The Globe Primary Academy. This is where you can find about the academy's governors and the work that we do.

The Governing Body is made up of 4 Trust Governors, 2 Parent Governors and 2 Staff Governors all of whom are unpaid volunteers. The Parent Governors and Staff Governors are elected roles whereas Trust Governors are appointed by REAch2 Academy Trust. In addition, the Executive Headteacher and Head of School also sit on the Governing Body. Full details of each of the governors are shown below.
The work of the Governing Body
As Trust, Staff and Parent Governors, our main role is to support the academy in delivering the best possible outcomes for children by acting as a critical friend to the Executive Headteacher and Head of School. We offer challenge and ensure that plans are robust, stretching and enable all children to thrive through the learning provided by the academy.

The Globe Primary Academy is a registered charity and sponsored by REAch2 Academy Trust. The Local Governing Board are accountable to the Regional Board and the REAch2 Trust Board, as well as the wider community.
The Governors are under a duty to act in the best interests of the academy and have responsibility to ensure it complies with its legal obligations; avoid any conflicts of interest, fulfil the charitable objectives of the academy and ensure robust monitoring of financial expenditure.

The full Governing Body meets at least twice a term. At these meetings, the governing body carries out it's three core functions, as identified by the Department of Education in the Governance Handbook:

- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and it's pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff
-Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure the money is well spent
